Terms of Use

These terms apply to use of Keokuk County Criminal History. By accessing the site, a visitor accepts the limits and duties stated below. The site is a private reference resource and does not replace an official Keokuk County or Iowa record. Information must be used lawfully, with respect for privacy, public-access limits, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Linked government and partner services keep their own terms. A visitor who does not agree with these conditions should stop using the site and its features.

1. Accepting These Terms

Accessing or using the site means that you agree to these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not accept them, do not continue using the site.

2. Proper Use

You may use the site only for lawful personal reference. You agree that you will not:

  • Violate a federal, Iowa, or local law while using the service
  • Harass, stalk, threaten, or harm another person
  • Use site information for any FCRA-regulated decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the site or its systems
  • Use scraping, bots, or automated collection tools
  • Interfere with the site's operation or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Iowa Sex Offender Registry information is provided for safety awareness. Threats, vandalism, stalking, assault, or harassment directed at a registrant, family member, or another person can lead to arrest and prosecution.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Keokuk County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Neither the site nor its advertising partners supplies a consumer report intended for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another regulated eligibility decision. You agree not to use information from the site or a linked tool to:

  • Make an employment decision
  • Evaluate a housing or rental application
  • Set credit or insurance eligibility
  • Determine eligibility for a license, benefit, or government program
  • Carry out any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A lawful official process must use the properly authorized Iowa DCI or other compliant channel.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how an Iowa charge, warrant, conviction, or expungement law applies to a specific set of facts. Consult a licensed Iowa attorney for advice.

6. No Warranties

The site is offered “as is” and “as available.” We make no promise that:

  • Every page is complete, accurate, or current
  • Access will be continuous or error free
  • The service contains no defect or security risk
  • A partner search result is accurate or comprehensive

Cases and public access can change through filing, dismissal, correction, restriction, or expungement. Verify any important fact with the Keokuk County or Iowa office that keeps the original.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

External links may lead to county offices, Iowa courts, state agencies, legal resources, and commercial search providers. We do not control their content, availability, prices, data practices, or terms. The visitor is responsible for reviewing the destination service before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless another owner is identified, the site's original text, graphics, logos, and code are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. They may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used to create a derivative work without written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site, inability to use it, reliance on its content, or use of a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from a claim, demand, cost, or legal action arising from your misuse of the site or breach of these terms, including reasonable related legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Iowa law governs these terms, including applicable consumer-protection principles. A dispute related to use of the site must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Iowa.

12. Changes to These Terms

Terms may be revised when site practices or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes effective when posted, and continued use means acceptance of that version.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended when needed to protect the service, enforce these terms, comply with law, or address misuse. Advance notice is not guaranteed.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be narrowed as needed while the remaining provisions continue in effect.
